A mother and founder of Journey to Happiness Movement Inc, Camille Butler, joins host Meghan Enriquez for a raw and heartfelt conversation about loving your family, advocating for their health, loss of a child and legacy.

Inspired by the late Journey Bessai, the J2HM was founded as a means to educate the world about the possible complications involved with carrying the sickle cell trait (SCT), such as Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC). Prior to her RMC diagnosis, Journey was full of life, talent and dreams, but in only a 5-month period her dreams shattered as she began to realize the inevitable; life was slipping away. Before Journey’s death, she spoke about spreading the word about the sickle cell trait to the masses. Because of the pain that she endured and also what heartache her family experienced, this movement was established. www.journeytohappinessmovement.org

Today we are visited by Bamoyo and LaToya, the owners of Work Life Urgent Care of Glen Burnie MD, who are going to share a bit about what life experiences have led them to be the leaders in what we at True Conversations call "Compassionate Care" in the medical and social work field. Listen in to hear why education, listening, and offering a family like practice of integrated supportive services regarding physical AND mental health, as well as substance addiction for members of the community of all ages and backgrounds may just be the key to a happier, healthier Maryland.
